July 23rd, 2012What’s under your sink, flies through the air, and cleans up after your dog? If you guessed Supersponge Man, you’re kind of crazy. It’s the plastic bag.
And thankfully, plastic bag usage has been curbed in California. Plastic is a huge source of pollution in America, and plastic bags are one of the biggest offenders. San Francisco and Los Angeles – as well as many outlying cities like Santa Cruz – have launched successful bans on plastic bags. Now lawmakers are setting their sights on another big offender in the war on the environment: the plastic water bottle.
HANC’s battle for the Haight-Ashbury Recycling Center
July 11th, 2012There’s a little place in Golden Gate Park that you might not know about. It’s not very far into the park, like the polo fields. And it’s not tucked away like Strawberry Hill. In fact, it’s right next to Kezar stadium. And as a San Francisco junk hauling company, it’s of special interest to us as locals and recyclers.
El Cerrito’s Recycling Center
July 5th, 2012I just wanted to post a little update to a post we did a while ago about El Cerrito’s new recycling center.
As it happens, a Fast Haul customer is working for the architect who designed the recycling center and we had no idea; this is such a small World!
They also just let us know that they have additional photos and information about it on their website. Unlike the 3D renderings of the project we added to our first post, these are real pictures. Go have a look:
